We are in our fourth year of operation and we plan on making it a permanent part of the community’s female adult recreation options. Myself and my co-organizer, Jaime Hamilton, had an idea a few years ago to start-up this league in our own way and capacity as it had not run in a few years and we were looking for something fun to do in the Spring, as well as to get out and meet other females interested in the sport of basketball in some way, shape or form. Our mission is to get women and girls from grade 9 to age 99 to come out and enjoy playing some basketball with other females in a fun and slightly competitive environment. We offer, during the Spring each year, a place where you can come and be active while having fun and meeting new people. You sign-up as an individual and we make the teams at a cost of only $60 – that includes a jersey and t-shirt!
We run games on Wednesday evenings at the Southridge YMCA and start games on April 27th and have our wind-up and final playoff games on June 15th. Games are an hour in length and run from either 7-8pm or 8-9pm.
